Fly Fishing AND Tying courses will begin on the FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH. Each course will be a four week session, each class will be one hour!

Course Descriptions
Introduction to Fly Tying – $35 per person or $60 for two
This course is designed to introduce the core concepts of fly-tying. The course is broken down into 4 (one hour) lectures in a four week period. At the beginning of each lecture a short discussion of select topics about fly-tying, followed by instruction on how to tie two new patterns each week. The concepts grow upon previous instruction to make the learning process an easy progression from beginner to advanced methods. Vices, tools, hooks and materials will be provided for the duration of each lecture at no extra cost!

The intro to fly fishing course is designed to help you become a more successful fly-fisherman or fisherwoman. The course consists of 3 nights of lecture and one afternoon on the water. We will instruct you on several methods used to take sport fish in our local waters. You will learn various topwater and sub-surface tactics commonly used. Along with rigging and knots, the casting techniques are broken down into simple easy to perform steps. You will be exposed to single haul, double haul and roll casting methods. Day 1- Knots, riggin, introduction to the fly rod and its components.
Day 2- Stream entomology, reading water and fly selection
Day 3- The various casting methods
Day 4- An afternoon on the river!
